Okay, I'll admit that part of the attraction of posting YouTube videos is so that my nephews will think I'm cool. But, I have to admit that I'm also really enjoying it. And, I'm glad there's stuff to talk about!
I'll try to return with a brief review of the third episode before the fourth one drops, but first I wanted to put together this longer video going into some of the reasons I'm impressed with the handling of Matt's senses so far. I really hope the show will be able to stay the course, because they're really hitting that "Goldilocks" sweet spot for me with this stuff!

I just discovered this blog after Born Again ignited a previously untapped hyperfixation for Daredevil, and I’m thrilled to have found it. As a biologist, I’m also especially fascinated by the idea of “super senses,” which aren’t actually that super considering there are animals that can really do most of the things Matt can (except martial arts, pretty sure that one’s unique to humans). I’m curious, have you ever read “An Immense World” by Ed Yong? It delves into the concept of “umwelt” which describes a being’s perception of the world as constrained by the senses available to them. As I was watching this video and reading some of your other posts about Daredevil’s senses I kept coming back to that concept. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts as the rest of the season progresses!
Welcome to the blog, Harper! I haven’t read An Immense World, but I’m aware of and interested in that concept. I touch on some version of that in my book, but mostly in terms of how physics set limits on biology, both in terms of how sensation is obviously shaped evolutionarily by the relevant (to an organism) stimuli associated with life on our planet, and also in terms of how the physics of stimuli intersect with the size of animals and the physical scale of their sensory systems.
