News Roundup, November 15

Nothing big going on, just thought I’d give you updates on some shipping delays, as well as pass on a quote by Andy Diggle regarding Daredevil: Reborn.

Shadowland titles postponed until December

Originally, Shadowland #5 was supposed to come out this week, but I realized a few days ago that it had been pushed back to November 24 which meant that it was due to hit the stands the same day as Daredevil and a slew of other Shadowland-related titles. Then, just the other day, the ever informed Kuljit Mithra of offered another update which sees a lot of these titles getting another bump in the schedule. Not sure what this is all about; I even asked Diggle about it and he had no clue.

Anyway, both Daredevil #512 and Shadowland #5 will now ship on December 1. For a complete list, check out Kuljit’s info.

Andy Diggle now on Formspring

Diggle has now joined the many comic book creators (for a complete list, see this entry by The Weekly Crisis) who are available for answering questions on Formspring. Not much Daredevil-related stuff on there yet, with the exception of one question from a comic book reader: “What part of your run of Daredevil are you most happy with so far?” In response, Diggle had the following to say.

“The first issue of DD REBORN, hands down. Pleased with my own work, which doesn’t happen very often, plus Davide Gianfelice is an artistic force of nature.”

All I can say is that I hope we as fans will be as pleased as the writer in this case! Anyway, I hope to return with a quick review of the final issue of Shadowland: Daughters of the Shadow as well as a look at some of the funnier moments from the Bendis run before I go to Leeds for Thought Bubble on Friday. I will, of course, do a little report from the convention.

    NaNoWriMo continues. At the halfway mark in November, Christine has met her pledge to blog *something* on four days: the 1st, 5th, 10th, and 15th. 4 of 15 isn’t great, but a strong finish is certainly possible. (Note: this count is according to GMT +5 — US Eastern. A few comments might have come on the next day in Sweden, the point of origin. That could bring her score potentially up to 7!)

    Did you think we’d forget, Christine? 🙂

    And, of course, when I say “GMT +5”, I mean “GMT -5”. Don’t you hate when you notice a mistake 10 seconds after you’ve lost the ability to fix it?

    I’m pretty sure I’m going to Thoughtbubble.

    Will have to say hello at some point 🙂

    Oh Aaron, how harsh you are. Of course I thought people forgot about that, it was in a comment, not a post and hence off the record! 😉 Seriously though, I will probably end up with more posts this month than the 8-10 that’s been my average for the last six months or so, if only because I have a few ideas to work with at the moment. The last few months have been a creative drought since Shadowland crashed.

    @Ian: I’m sure I’ll see you there then! 🙂

    Harsh?!? Heck, I just practically gave you a freebie by posting and drawing forth your comment. You can get another freebie by waiting to say “thank you” until tomorrow too! 🙂 (Does anyone else find it odd that the National Novel Writing Month folks consider it to be an INTERnational event?)
