News Roundup, May 3

Yes, I’ve started yet another blog category. But don’t worry, this is the category to end all superfluous blog update posts and strange mixed entries where I tack some news item or random link to whatever happened to be the main topic of the post. Also, with the amount of Daredevil news and commentary coming out these days, I think we need a weekly summary. This is it. In the rare case that nothing has happened during the week, I might at least let you know what I’ve been up to. I don’t think finding things to post about is going to be a problem though. The format I was going to use for these updates is to divide them into three parts, though not all will be featured in each post, of course.

News

  • Daredevil Noir #2 hits the stands on Wednesday. If you haven’t seen it already, you can take a look at CBR or Marvel.com. I recommend the former for its better resolution and the preview feature which lets you flip through the pages.

  • Joe Quesada is still keeping us in the dark with regard to who the next Daredevil artist will be. Quote from last week’s MyCup O’Joe (his last, by the way) in response to a reader question: “As for Daredevil… soon! Messrs. Diggle and the new artist are hard at work, and we’ll make an announcement when we have some lovely, lovely art ready to show you!” I guess that means it will be a while. I’m not really expecting that we’ll see any preview art until July at the earliest.

LINKS

  • Kuljit, webmaster extraordinaire of ManWithoutFear has finally completed his insanely long interview with the team behind the Fall From Grace storyline, mainly Dan Chichester and Scott McDaniel. That interview kept me entertained the entire ride home on the bus last week and is well worth a read; very thorough and gives us some great insight into the creative process. Also, though older than a week, Kuljit did an interview with Alex Irvine and Tomm Coker too. Check that out if you haven’t already.

  • JP from The Red Shaker has made great progress on his look at the shared history of Daredevil and the Punisher, and is just about to wrap it up. Check out his bilingual (French/English) posts over HERE.

  • Francesco, from F’s Kitchen, has done a humorous post on Lady Bullseye’s powers. Great overview!

  • Another friend, Gloria, posted about Foggy’s latest woes in the hilarious Book of Fog. Heck, it even rhymes!

  • Not Daredevil related, but of interest to any Marvel reader is Matt’s (The Weekly Crisis) series of post on what Marvel is doing wrong and what could be done better. Part three, with links to the two previous posts can be found HERE.

Blog updates

  • I finally did a much needed update to the archive page, and I’m going to try to keep it much more current this time. Might even go update it right now. *Ahem*

  • I added an FAQ section. Submit your own question if you have any. The stranger the better as far as I’m concerned.

Okay! That’s it for this first edition. Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comments.

LOL, any rhymes there weren’t really intended, I swear: blame it to King James’ Version of the Bible, of whose “book of Job” I drew the main inspiration and to which the post is an affectionate parody ;D
